February 2016 List of Contents

HAND-FORGED ABORIGINAL AWL with OJIBWA BIRD SNARE KIT: $25

TOOL #2 in the AWS series is the Aboriginal Awl. An awl is one of the most useful hand tools ever created. Awls made from bone, stone and wood have been traced back to almost every primitive culture and tribe on the planet. They were used extensively for drilling holes and making or repairing gear/clothing. Your carbon steel awl performs functions that an ordinary knife cannot. The thin, slender, extremely sharp point is perfect for punching holes in leather and canvas for makeshift sewing repairs or camp projects. It is also durable enough to drill nearly perfect holes in wood, which is necessary for a variety of survival tasks. This AWL also makes the perfect tool for tapping maple, birch and sycamore trees this time of year for drinkable sap! Included with your awl are instructions detailing how to construct a classic survival trap – The Ojibwa Bird Snare. There is one finished kit and one BLANK set for you to carve on your own. Post your Ojibwa Bird Snares on INSTAGRAM using #APOCABOX.
*NOTE: Primitive traps are illegal and for survival scenarios only.

FIRE KIT PATCH: $5

This identification patch is perfect for your Survival Fire Kit. For those of you who don’t have a good Fire Kit Pouch, I’ll soon be adding some options in the APOCABOX SHOP.

STUCK: A SURVIVAL SHORT STORY : $6

I thought you might enjoy my 1st ever survival short story titled STUCK. I had an exclusive run printed just for the February APOCABOX. A couple years ago I provided expert commentary on TV about how to survive being stuck in quicksand. This interview inspired me to write this survival short story. I hope you enjoy!

6×9 EMERGENCY APOCA-TARP: $17

Included in your kit this month in an emergency shelter tool: The APOCA-TARP. This tarp is NOT designed to be an everyday-use tarp. The special heat reflective material isn’t durable enough. It’s designed to be used as a last ditch emergency shelter. Pack it in your car, bug out bag or emergency kit. It makes a great replacement for the cheap emergency blankets. It’s bigger, more durable, has grommets and also has a bright orange side that can be used for signaling.

HOW TO LIVE UNDER A TARP BOOK: $9

This handy field guide has been developed to compliment your 6×9 Emergency APOCA-TARP. It illustrates 15 different effective tarp sets for emergency sheltering using the 6×9 APOCA-TARP. I suggest keeping it with your tarp for quick “in-the-field” reference. The tarp shelters shown in this guide are all time tested winners and work equally well for year-round camping. Test one out on your next trip into the wild!

WILDFLOWER HONEY STRAWS: 3-PACK: $3

Honey has amazing survival qualities. It can be used for an energy boost, to sweeten and flavor wild meals, to sweeten bush teas and even to treat wounds. What’s even more amazing is that it doesn’t expire. It’s one of the few food items that you can put in your Bug Out Bag and never have to worry about replacing it. **Do not feed honey to infants.**
